First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. We can also email your paperwork ahead of time, or you can print it out from our website under the "Schedule Appointment" setting and have it filled out when you get to the office.

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-ray Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. We will only know if you require x-rays after our initial consult with you. We do not keep an x-ray machine on site but we will happily give you a RX for any needed studies and you may have those performed at a center that accepts your personal insurance. They will be read by a radiologist and then we can review the films themselves with you. Always remember to ask for a CD of your x-rays or MRI or any imaging when you are at the imaging center so that the doctors here can look at them with you.
The written report will be sent by the radiologist to one of our doctors via fax. You MUST request a CD at the imaging center as they will not automatically give you one, nor will they send images of the films to us, only the written report.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1 day to 1 week and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
